Penny Melville-Brown

Penny Melville-Brown recently led the Diversity Means Business project promoting diversity in the workplace to businesses across south east England plus the subsequent multi-sector employer attitude research. Pro-bono work includes chairing organisations committed to improving employment opportunities for disadvantaged people: Business Ability (promoting self-employment), the Diversity Works Partnership and a consortium of local authorities.
A disability specialist, she supported two major national public bodies create Disability Equality Schemes and is now leading a team helping disabled people to start their own businesses in Derbyshire. Her publications cover accessible communications, disability etiquette, accessible event management, a job-search manual plus an international website showcasing visually impaired people at work.
She champions employee and customer equality as a Board member of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs and the Employment Tribunal System. Penny provides Board-level diversity advice to the National Policing Improvement Agency and, previously, the Ministry of Defence and University for Industry.
