Martin Lucas

I've had a long career in TV, producing a large range of documentary programmes across all the major channels, with particular emphasis on health and disability. I've earned various BMA media awards and a RADAR 'People of the Year' Award. My last full time job was as Head of Production for National Television Romania.

I've now retired from full time production but as an Associate of Minty and Friend, I produced a training video based on interviews with people with disabilities in 2007, and I currently participate in 'Acting On Disability', a training project for Britain's major banks using dramatised sequences to demonstrate key issues.

I have had life long cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia) since an illness as a child caused some brain damage. My walking is now severely restricted.

I've been involved with the BCIDN since 1996, and would be very happy to offer my experience and contacts to help any disabled person who wants to develop a career in TV.
