Funding boost to help the 'disadvantaged' back to work
5th November 2008

A £27 million boost is being given to projects to help people stay in work and improve their job skills, the Department for Work and Pensions has announced.
The money from the new European Social Fund is part of an ongoing government initiative to help people retrain and find work in the current economic climate.
Organisations interested in benefiting from the boost should submit proposals to run regional schemes for improving employment opportunities.
Each initiative will work with at least one partner from another EU member state.
Tony McNulty, employment and welfare reform minister, said the scheme would "help break down barriers that prevent people achieving their potential".
The news will be of interest to those working towards economic inclusion.
A recent report by Citizens Advice, titled Justice Denied, has found that a legal loophole means many workers who win awards at tribunals are not given their money.
