A disabled employee from Kidderminster has found work at West Midland Safari Park, thanks to specialist employment company Remploy.

Rachael Stephens, 21, whose goal it is to run her own business, has cerebral palsy which affects her mobility, although she does not consider herself to be disabled, the Kidderminster Shuttle reports.

The 1,000th person to be supported by the organisation, Ms Stephens initially worked in the experience kiosk at the park, but now holds a position in the retail shop.

"We believe in recognising people's ability and Rachael is a welcome addition to the team," said human resources manager with the wildlife centre Michelle Gale.

This follows a Kidderminster Shuttle report that Worcestershire-based businesses could soon be recognised by the Mike Oborski No Barriers award for contributions to improving services, employment and access for disabled people, with nominations due to close on September 24th.ADNFCR-1716-ID-800052924-ADNFCR
