Nominations still open for scheme that improves employment for disabled people in Worcestershire
1st September 2010

Nominations for a Worcestershire scheme, which recognises individuals and businesses that make significant contributions to improving employment, services and access for disabled people in Wyre Forest close on September 24th.
Previous winners of the Mike Oborski No Barriers awards - launched by county councillor Mike Oborski, based on a similar idea in Poland - include Fred Holland of Diabetes UK, Just for Pets and Sainsbury's, both in Kidderminster, the Kidderminster Shuttle reports.
Mark Lawley at Disability Action Wyre Forest, Paul Mitchell at Lloyds Garage and Jeanette Baldwin at the Stroke Association were also honoured during 2009's evening ceremony.
Designed to celebrate commitment to social, economic and financial inclusion, the initiative aims to highlight those whose job it may not be to focus solely on the area of disability, but who try to improve the lives of disabled people, be it through accessible entrances, easy-to-read signs or appropriate parking facilities
