Disabled employees and others 'should eat breakfast'

31st August 2010

Breakfast

The benefits of eating breakfast every day have been extolled by one industry expert who believes certain foods can be consumed that help people avoid stress, provide energy and improve creativity and brain power.

Disabled employees and others in the workforce may want to follow Dora Walsh's, nutritional therapist and founder of Nutriheal's, words of advice as new research conducted by Best Western has revealed that what is munched in the morning can affect a person's ability to cope with stress, a mental health condition often overlooked by employers but that can prove debilitating.

According to the study, four out of five respondents consider this meal to be essential for the working day, yet one-third are unable to make time to enjoy it.

Furthermore, those who do fit it into their routine often do so inappropriately, either at their desks, standing up or spending fewer than five minutes actually eating.

Ms Walsh recommended muesli with wholegrain cereal and pumpkin seeds, wholegrain toast with smoked salmon or scrambled eggs, grilled kippers and porridge with nuts and fresh banana for breakfast.ADNFCR-1716-ID-800045667-ADNFCR
