Bupa Chief Executive Ray King shows support for disability
6th October 2008
Ray King, Bupa chief executive, is showing his commitment to disability confidence by joining Employers’ Forum on Disability’s (EFD) president’s group.
The group, which has nearly 50 members, was created by EFD’s president, John Varley, group chief executive, Barclays PLC.
It is the only senior leadership body focused on repositioning disabled people as employees, customers and valued stakeholders. John Varley created the president's group to enable engagement on disability at the most senior level.
Ray King, Bupa chief executive, said: “I believe passionately that success in business depends on having a diverse workforce with equal opportunity for all. I am proud to be joining EFD’s president’s group, with which we have worked for a number of years.”
Susan Scott-Parker, chief executive of EFD said: “We are very pleased that Ray King has signalled his personal commitment to getting it right on disability by joining the president’s group.
“The president’s group represents senior leaders working in organisations across the private and public sectors. It sends a powerful message - to government, to the market place, to colleagues and to competitors. The message is that business leaders have disability at the top of their agenda.”
