EFD reaction to appointment of Hazel Blears as Communities and Local Government Secretary

Commenting on the appointment today (Thursday) of Hazel Blears as Communities and Local Government Secretary, EFD's chief executive, Susan Scott-Parker, said:"EFD welcomes the appointment of Hazel Blears as Communities and Local Government Secretary. Taking forward the equality and human rights agenda is an important and valuable task. In light of the recent Green Paper on the Single Equalities Bill, I look forward to forging an early dialogue with Department for Communities and Local Government and the Commission on Equality and Human Rights on the employers role in achieving equality."
