Adam Crozier to lead employers on disability

Employers' Forum on Disability (EFD) is delighted to announce that Adam Crozier, Chief Executive of Royal Mail Group, has today been appointed Chairman.

Crozier will assume the post from acting Chair, Dame Julie Mellor, who is partner at professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.

He formerly worked for advertising agency Saatchi and Saatchi, and was Chief Executive of the Football Association from 2000 to 2002.

Since his appointment as CEO of Royal Mail Group in 2003, the company has launched the 'Chairmans' Diversity & Inclusion Awards' and won a number of awards for its work in promoting diversity in the workplace.

Chief executive of EFD, Susan Scott-Parker says: "We would like to thank Dame Julie Mellor for her efforts as acting Chair during the past few months and welcome Adam Crozier.

"As Chief Executive of Royal Mail, Adam Crozier plays an important part in promoting the economic and social inclusion of disabled people as employees and customers.

"Royal Mail and in particular the Post Office has a vital role to play in ensuring disability equality - the Post Office serves more disabled people than any other organisation in the UK.Royal Mail has been a core funder of EFD for many years, working in partnership with us as we build our capacity to enable business, and public sector organisations, to become disability confident.

"We are extremely pleased that he has demonstrated his personal and professional commitment by accepting the Chair of EFD, and we look forward to working with him - and to his leadership."
