Rockpools setting new standards for disability confidence
9th October 2006
Rockpools has this week become the first executive recruitment firm to sign up for the Disability Standard 2007.
Developed by Employers' Forum on Disability (EFD), the Disability Standard 2007 is a unique benchmarking tool, which assesses business performance on disability. It was launched last week (5 October) at a special event hosted by the Financial Times.
Rockpools' Managing Partner, Nev Wilkinson, said: "At Rockpools, we are deeply committed to valuing diversity and to setting the pace for inclusiveness within the recruitment industry. This commitment has led us to become gold members of Employers' Forum on Disability this year.
"By signing up for the Disability Standard 2007, we will be able to assess how disability confident we are, and seek out new ways to have an even more inclusive workplace," he said.
Susan Scott-Parker, chief executive of Employers' Forum on Disability, said: "We are delighted that Rockpools have become one of the 100 UK firms across the private and public sector to get behind the Disability Standard 2007."
Participants of the Disability Standard 2007 will undergo an eight week benchmarking exercise in early 2007. The companies who have taken part will then receive a detailed, diagnostic report on their performance, benchmarked against other participant, with full benchmark results published in Autumn 2007.
