EFD represented at Global Compact Policy Dialogue

19th October 2006

Employers' Forum on Disability (EFD) was represented by BSkyB's Disability Access Manager Kay Allen at the recent Global Compact Policy Dialogue on Combating Discrimination and Promoting Equality at the Workplace (06 October 2006).

Speaking as part of the three day session in London, Kay raised the business case for employing disabled people, based on Employers' Forum on Disability's ‘Realising potential' report, launched in July.

Also speaking at the event was Simon Minty, Director of Churchill, Minty and Friend, and an Employers' Forum on Disability associate.

A joint effort of the UN Global Compact Office and the International Labour Organization (ILO), the 2006 Policy Dialogue brought together representatives of business, labour, governments, and NGOs to discuss concrete and practical solutions.

Participants also included business executives from leading multinationals and others who have been innovators in their area of work.
