Employers’ Forum on Disability conference tackles age discrimination
21st April 2006
A conference helping employers to retain older workers is being held by the leading authority on disability as it affects business.
An Employers' Forum on Disability (EFD) event, hosted by Goldman Sachs and entitled Age Equality and the Disability Discrimination Act, will be held in London on 25 May.
It will discuss legislation coming into force later this year that will prevent discrimination in employment on the grounds of age and is expected to be attended by a variety of business leaders.
A spokesperson for Employers' Forum on Disability said: "With an estimated 43 per cent of people aged 50 to state pension age disabled, it is more important than ever that employers don't consider age legislation in isolation."
It is hoped that the event will enable employers to gain an insight into the ways that other organisations will be adapting their policies and procedures to take into account both the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 and the DDA.
