UK Film Council appoints Head of Diversity

Mary Fitzpatrick has been appointed as the new Head of Diversity at the UK Film Council.
She joins the UKFC from the BBC where she currently works with commissioners, in-house producers, and independent suppliers to champion diversity and find practical ways to support creative thinking, casting and recruitment in BBC Vision. Before joining the BBC in 2006, Mary was Editorial Manager, Cultural Diversity, at Channel 4 and has been Director of the Arts Club and a member of BAFTA's Education Committee.
She will help the UK film sector build a more diverse and inclusive workforce and culture, promoting a range of initiatives which encourage more people to participate in and enjoy film.
