PACT appoint advisor to work with indies on Diversity
18th October 2009

Pact, the BBC and Channel 4 have appointed Angela Chan to the newly created role of diversity adviser. The appointment is a key part of a strategy to boost diversity in the production sector by helping companies deliver the commitments in the recently-launched CDN Diversity Pledge.
The new pledge encourages independent production companies to sign up to commitments to increase the number of disabled people working at their companies. Angela will be working alongside the BCIDN to help them deliver on this part of the pledge
A previous deputy commissioning editor for news and current affairs at Channel 4, she has more recently worked as a freelance diverse talent consultant for BBC Vision. She also has considerable experience in the independent production sector, where she has worked as executive producer for Eleven Film, Keo Films and Firefly Film & Television.
Angela says she's delighted to have the opportunity to support the independent sector and act as a champion for diverse talent in the industry. "The CDN pledge represents a real chance for companies to find new ways of engaging with diversity that will push creative boundaries, attract wider audiences and, ultimately, win business."
