Jobcentre Plus changes benefit broadcasting and film industry
2nd June 2008
Jobcentre Plus has agreed to changes in Access to Work funding which should make it easier for disabled people to work in the broadcasting and film industry.
In future freelances and short term contractors will be able to apply to funding once every three years, moving their support package with them from job to job.
They will also be encouraged to "own" equipment, funded by Access to Work, to make it portable.
The move follows a meeting on May 1st with Jobcentre Plus organized by the BCIDN and the Employer's Forum on Disability.
