ITV is the official media partner of the 8th Special Olympics GB National Summer Games, which are taking place in Leicester from 25th to 31st July.

The partnership represents the first time the National Summer Games will benefit from national exposure. The Games will receive coverage prior to and during the competition on ITV1 through the ITV Regional News Network, reaching an audience of up to 30 million viewers per week. Building up to the Games, ITV will cover the national Torch Relay, and profile Special Olympics athletes as they prepare for the highlight of their sporting calendar.

During Games week, ITV's Regional News Network will bring daily highlights from the events. Held every four years, the Special Olympics GB National Summer Games will attract over 2,700 athletes, 1,200 coaches, 1,500 volunteers and 6,000 families across a number of major venues in the region. Special Olympics is the third Olympic movement alongside the Olympics and Paralympics.
