BBC announces 2012 London Apprenticeships - applications open till 28th February 2010
4th February 2010

What is an Apprentice?
An Apprentice is someone who is there to learn as well as work. You will be helping programme-making teams, through admin support and office duties. In any day you might book travel and accommodation, arrange meetings, buy props or come up with programme ideas. We will give you training and support to achieve your goals, and you'll gain a qualification at the end of it. You will be paid an apprenticeship wage of £9,000 for the year.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for people who are passionate about the media, with lots of energy and ideas. You will be positive, and able to get on with all sorts of different people. It's your potential that is most important to us.
We want people with real understanding or experience of the issues facing London's many diverse communities. It's really important to us that our programme teams reflect the many different backgrounds of the people who make up our audience.
Do you qualify?
You'll need to have good maths, IT and English skills and you have to be 18 or over when the apprenticeship begins. You must be able to work full time for a year (flexible hours). You'll have study breaks to complete all the assignments you need for your qualification.
There are no minimum qualification requirements. However, as you'll be working towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship, this is not aimed at those already studying for a higher level qualification, like a degree or an HND.
When do you start?
Applications are open from 5th February - 28th February 2010.
You will need to be free to start on 30th April 2010.
