Roundtables

Roundtables are interactive sessions designed to be a forum for sharing ideas and solutions to particular problems, as well as bringing members up to date on the latest themes on disability - both employment and serving disabled customers.  Chaired by our associates, they give delegates a chance to network within a small group and hear from EFD partners.  They are an opportunity for members to learn more about EFD, meet the team and find out how we can help with your work.

At these events we want you to bring your own queries and questions and share them with other delegates and the EFD team.  Our experience shows that where one member might be trying to tackle something for the first time in their organisation, other members will have already overcome the problem or EFD will be able to help.

Roundtables take place every other month, from September 2009 to July 2010.  EFD Live! events have now replaced each subsequent month, starting in October 2009, and allow you to listen in to EFD discussion via the telephone (using similar technology to our Telephone Tutorials).

Roundtable dates:

September 2009, November 2009, February 2010, April 2010, June 2010

These events take place at an EFD member's offices, in a central London location.  Each Roundtable is themed around a particular subject relating to disability.  This might include disability and television, disability and diversity, accessible technology or reasonable adjustments.

These roundtables will:

• Update you on the latest developments arising around the legal issues, including any case law, from a leading UK lawyer.
• Enable you to discuss new initiatives within the disability sector.
• Include guest speakers from EFD partner organisations which can provide participants with fresh thinking on disability and help you to make it easier back at your work place.
• Enable you to learn more about EFD products and services and how to make the most of EFD membership.
• Allow you to network with other members and get answers to your own problems and queries in a relaxed environment.
