The Equality Act brings together 116 pieces of existinganti-discrimination legislation, including the Disability Discrimination Act(DDA).
The Act is intended to provide a new cross-cutting legislativeframework to protect the rights of individuals, and advance equality ofopportunity for all.
This Telephone Tutorial is designed to help answer commonquestions about the Act and address important points such as:
- The history of the Equality Act and timetable for its implementation.
- Guidance including new Codes of Practice from the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
- The differences between the DDA and the Equality Act.
This Telephone tutorial also includes a question and answersession. You can submit any questions or queries you would like addressed tothe Training and Events team at events@efd.org.ukbefore the event, or ask them during the tutorial.
