EFD Telephone Tutorials are designed to allow you to access valuable training from the convenience of your desk, minimising disruption to your working day.
This tutorial will be about the government-funded programme, Access to Work (AtW). Delivered by Job Centre Plus, AtW provides practical advice and support to disabled people and their employers to help them overcome work-related obstacles resulting from disability.
The tutorial will be led by Rick Caruso, Senior National External Engagement Manager of the National Access to Work Delivery Team at Jobcentre Plus, and he will be joined by Kerry Smith, EFD's Disability Directions Manager.
Discussion will focus on the following key areas:
- What is AtW, who will benefit and how?
- What will be the cost to the employer?
- What do the assessments involve and how effective are they?
- How does the "shopping list "work in practice?
- What if you or the employee is unhappy with an assessment?
- Reasonable adjustments.
- What does the future hold for Access to Work?
