Conference: Disabled people - valued employees, customers & stakeholders in a changing world
Hosted by Clifford Chance
23rd June 2009, 10:30am - 4.30pm, London
- How do you ensure that disability remains a top priority and business issue during difficult economic times?
- How can current and future trends help you to address disability at a strategic level and engage your future disabled customers and stakeholders?
- How do you engage with disabled staff, encourage disclosure of disability and reduce stress and mental ill health for all during difficult economic times?
A proactive approach to disability will make your business more attractive to disabled service users and consumers. Disabled people have an estimated annual spending of £80 billion in the UK alone. In addition, being disability confident can significantly increase the productivity of your workforce.
Our annual conference will examine how your organisation can position itself to capitalise on current and future trends on disability, taking account of the economic climate.
A range of influential and inspirational speakers will examine and explore key social demographic, legislative and policy trends in relation to disabled people.
We will be:
- Reviewing the Equality Bill and any changes to the Disability Discrimination Act that employers must understand and anticipate, including how this will impact the Public Sector's Duty to Promote Disability Equality.
- Providing a panel discussion to debate how we make sure disability remains a strategic priority throughout a recession.
- Running a series of workshops on particular subjects chosen by EFD members offering practical advice and suggestions that can be implemented back at the office.
- Bringing together EFD member case studies, disability practitioners, government and strategic thinkers to give you the tools you need to create change on disability in your organisation.
