Full day masterclass: Reasonable adjustments - your questions answered

This is a past event

12th February 2009, 10:00am - 4pm, London

How do I know what is reasonable?

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requires employers to make adjustments in the workplace, both to the physical environment and working arrangements, if they make it difficult for a disabled person to do their job.

Whether it be a change to sickness absence policy, a flexible working agreement or an adaptation to a work station, an adjustment is anything that you do to make it easier for an employee to continue working for you.

Our members commonly ask us: 'How do I know what is reasonable?' This Workshop will enable you to address this issue by working through different scenarios, taken from queries to our Disability Directions team, to bring the subject area to life.

It will be complemented by various EFD resources, including our popular Line manager guides.  The event will equip you to make informed decisions when making reasonable adjustments in the workplace.

The event will be chaired by Rick Williams, EFD associate and director of Freeney Williams Ltd. with inputs from:

Bela Gor, Legal Director, Employers' Forum on Disability.

Brendan Roach, Disability Directions Adviser, Employers' Forum on Disability.

Noel Hastings, Senior Employment Consultant, National Autistic Society - Prospects Employment Service.

Sam Oliver, Diversity Manager, TescO.
