Regional Forum: Scottish forum event- Information technology (IT) focus

12th November 2008, 10.00am - 4.00pm, Glasgow Past event

Hosted by Barclays Wealth

Regional forums are free to EFD members and provide up-to-date information on a specific theme, determined by member feedback from previous events. While enabling members to network and share best practice, they also highlight how to make the best use of the support EFD membership provides.

Members receive an invitation with further details of event content nearer to the time of each event.

IT is indispensable in the workplace. However, the wrong kind of IT hardware or software can potentially disable your staff. Knowing what assistive technology is readily available, including free and low cost equipment, is vital to supporting and protecting your workforce. Getting the right IT equipment, training and systems in place will:

  • Allow people to work smarter, regardless of whether they are disabled or not
  • Result in the best use of time and resources and a speedier delivery
  • Ensure the equipment is not 'overwritten' in the next round of equipment upgrades

As customers and clients increasingly rely on websites to access information, goods and services, your organisation must ensure that its website is accessible to people using assistive technology.
