Conference: Growing the talent pool: recruiting disabled candidates

19th June 2007, 00:00am - 00:01am, Central London Past event

1 in 5 people available for work in the UK has a disability and 6% of first class honour degrees are gained by students with a disability. If you are looking to recruit the best person to fill your job vacancy, are you missing out on loyal and talented potential employees because you are not engaging with disabled jobseekers?

Ensuring you get the best recruits is fundamental to your future success. There is an untapped talent pool of disabled graduates and others who are ready to work. We will focus on recruitment processes, the relationship between the different stakeholders, the role of recruitment agencies and different models of recruitment - and help you open the door to everyone.

We will be asking questions like:

  • Are you getting the most talented person for the job?
  • How do you create barrier free recruitment processes?
  • Do you outsource your recruitment and does your recruitment agency actively attract disabled candidates?
  • How do you ensure you are skilled in making adjustments which enable an individual to contribute to their potential?
