DDA Masterclass: Disability Discrimination Act (DDA): Part II – employment
20th June 2007, 00:00am - 00:01am, East Kilbride Past event
Under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), you must ensure that you do not discriminate against a disabled employee or job applicant. The courts take this issue very seriously and awards of up to £500,000 have been made for DDA claims.
Bela Gor, a leading expert in DDA case law, has designed this event to clearly explain your organisation's rights and responsibilities, and to update you on the latest tribunal decisions and amendments to the legislation.
We work with a maximum of 18 delegates to make it easier for you to ask questions and to apply your learning to exercises based on actual DDA cases.
Why attend?
This masterclass will enable you to:
- Understand the employment provisions of the DDA, including direct discrimination, less favourable treatment, reasonable adjustments and justification.
- Update your knowledge of recent cases and legislative changes.
- Use the DDA to the mutual benefit of your organisation and your disabled staff.
- Test your knowledge by exploring example cases in groups and suggesting potential outcomes.
Who should attend?
HR professionals, occupational health professionals, disability advisers, health and safety specialists, legal practitioners, and those in charge of training and disability or diversity practitioners responsible for promoting change on disability.
