Hot Topic: Disability Equality Scheme – Meeting the deadline
19th December 2006, 00:00am - 00:01am, Past event
Are you confident that you will be ready to publish your Disability Equality Scheme by 4th December 2006?
This event is designed to allow you to compare, discuss and review the work you have done so far on your Disability Equality Scheme with your peers in other public sector organisations. It is an opportunity to build your Scheme on good practice and, at the same time, develop a wider network for future work.
Presentations will be kept to a minimum. The focus will be on discussing the challenges you face and developing successful approaches to the five essential elements your Disability Equality Scheme must include, i.e.:
- A statement of how disabled people have been involved in developing the scheme.
- An action plan.
- Arrangements for gathering information about the performance of the public body on disability equality.
- Arrangements for assessing the impact of activities of the authority on disability equality and improving these when necessary.
- Details of how the authority is going to use the information gathered, in particular in reviewing the effectiveness of its action plan and preparing subsequent schemes.
Why attend?
This event will enable you to:
