Broadcasting & Creative Industries Disability Network
What is the BCIDN?
The Broadcasting and Creative Industries Disability Network (BCIDN) brings together the UK's major broadcasters, film-makers and others in the creative industries to explore and address disability as it relates to the media industry.
The BCIDN makes it easier for members to recruit and retain disabled people and to promote and share best practice across the industry. The BCIDN is also concerned with gaining more accurate representation of people with disabilities in the media.
Founded by broadcasters in 1989, the BCIDN is part of the Employers' Forum on Disability (EFD), and all members of the BCIDN are members of EFD.
BCIDN has a small group of associates - disabled people with considerable media experience, especially in broadcasting - who help both the BCIDN and the creative and broadcasting industry through their knowledge and understanding of both disability and the industry.
